From the 1st March 2016 What Power Crisis became a fully owned subsidiary of Mighty River Power.
What Power Crisis is a provider of renewable energy services and solutions for New Zealand and the Pacific and Micronesian Islands. Our customers range from individuals requiring small scale generation, e.g. a single 250W panel to cover base-loads, to residential systems right through to light industrial and power companies. Starting operational life in 2005 focusing on wind energy electricity generation, we leveraged our practical experience to evolve primarily into grid-tied solar PV which is where the worldwide and New Zealand renewable energy markets are focused.
What Power Crisis has performed many successful residential and commercial solar PV installations, including the prestigious recently-installed 50kWp system on the Auckland War Memorial Museum.
What Power Crisis aims to find the right solution for you based on your energy needs. We are trusted energy partners of major companies in New Zealand, and in the Pacific Islands, and you can trust us to find the solution for you!
WPC received the SEANZ Sharp award for Best Solar PV Implementation in 2012 for SAFE Engineering in Drury and in 2014 for the Auckland War Memorial Project. In 2015 we received the Best Solar and Storage award for the Fred Hollows eye hospital 100kWp installation and company founder David Keppel received the SEANZ Supreme Award - Industry Person of the Year.
In February 2016 WPC was purchased by Mighty River Power and now operates as a 100% owned subsidiary of Mighty River Power giving our customers the confidence of WPC being backed by a multi-Billion dollar publically listed company.
